Nashville, TN - October 23, 2015 – National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) announced today the addition of a new expansion team, beginning competition in the 2016 season. The new team will be known as the Scrap Yard Dawgs and will be based in the Woodlands, TX, just north of Houston. The Dawgs will be the sixth team in the NPF joining existing teams Akron Racers, Chicago Bandits, Dallas Charge, Pennsylvania Rebellion, USSSA Florida Pride. The Dawgs become the first NPF franchise to be based in the Houston area since the Texas Thunder left for Rockford, Illinois in the 2007 season.
Nashville, TN – October 13, 2015 - National Pro Fastpitch announced the appointment of Mike Raynor as the League’s next Supervisor of Officials. Raynor replaces Ed Whipple, who recently retired from the position following a 3-year stint.
As Supervisor, Raynor is slated to oversee the NPF staff of umpires, a position which includes the identification and hiring of the game’s top umpires, regular season and Championship Series assignments and umpire evaluations. In addition, Raynor will communicate with the League Commissioner and team owners regarding current and future rule changes and revisions, along with overall operation of the NPF umpire program.
“An ever-present priority for the NPF is to staff the nation’s best umpires to officiate the world’s best competition,” said NPF Commissioner, Cheri Kempf. “That priority, along with the admin-istration of the NPF Staff of Umpires, can be challenging. It is a necessary for the Supervisor to have a solid understanding of what takes place on the field, as well as the overall goals of the league. I am confident Mike Raynor brings us the experience, expertise and leadership needed, to keep our umpire performance at that necessary level.”
Raynor’s resume includes experience in the administration, coaching and officiating categories over an excess of 40 years. As an official, Raynor has umpiring experience in both NCAA and NPF. As an NCAA umpire, he has a combined 20 plus years officiating the Southeastern Con-ference, Atlantic Coast Conference, Conference USA, the Southern Conference and numerous others. In addition to actively officiating games, Raynor’s resume of administrating officials is also lengthy, as he has served as the Umpire in Chief and Crew Chief in numerous Division I conference Championships and NCAA Regional Tournaments. Currently, Raynor serves as the Umpire Coordinator and Supervisor of Officials for the Atlantic Coast Conference, the BIG EAST Conference, the Big South Conference and the Ivy League.

AKRON, OH—After being held to two hits in 14 innings over the weekend, the Rebellion surged at the plate on Monday, August 10, putting together nine hits en route to a 9-5 victory over the Akron Racers. Reliever Emily Weiman took the win in the circle for PA while Rachele Fico suffered the loss.
Nashville, TN. - August 10, 2015 - The field of four teams is set for the 2015 National Pro Fastpitch Championship Series. With a down-to-the-wire clinch, and only one regular season game remaining, the Dallas Charge (16-30) became the fourth and final team to secure a spot. Dallas will join the regular season champions and #1 seed, USSSA Pride (34-14), #2 seed Chicago Bandits (30-16), and #3 seed Akron Racers (22-24) in Hoover Alabama for action set to begin on Friday August 14.
WASHINGTON, PA—The Pennsylvania Rebellion fell to the visiting Akron Racers by a final score of 2-0 on Sunday, August 9. Rebellion starter Dallas Escobedo carried a two-hit shutout into the sixth inning, but suffered loss. Lisa Norris took the win.
WASHINGTON, PA—The Pennsylvania Rebellion squared off yet again with the visiting Akron racers on Saturday, August 8. Despite allowing just four hits, the Rebellion fell to Akron by a final score of 6-0. Sarah Pauly earned the pitching victory for Akron while Miranda Kramer suffered the loss.
Washington, PA- The Pennsylvania Rebellion opened a four-game series with the Akron Racers Friday night by picking things up where they left off on June 14 due to a postponed contest. PA was able to take the day against Akron, defeating the Racers 9-1 in game one and 4-3 in game two.
Chicago, IL – The Pennsylvania Rebellion won the series two games to one against the Chicago Bandits, but they could not overcome the arm of Monica Abbot, who tossed a no hitter. The Rebellion fell to the Chicago Bandits 3-0 Monday morning.
CHICAGO, IL – Behind Miranda Kramer’s solid outing, the Rebellion were able to cruise to a 5-3 victory over the Chicago Bandits at The Ballpark at Rosemont Saturday night. Kramer earned her first win of the season, while Michelle Gascoigne suffered the loss.
Rosemont, IL—The Pennsylvania Rebellion took to the road Friday evening and defeated the Chicago Bandits thanks to some late game heroics by a final score of 4-2. Haylie Wagner earned the win for the Rebellion while Kristen Verdun suffered the loss.
WASHINGTON, PA- The Pennsylvania Rebellion’s postponed contest at Firestone Stadium on June 14 against the Akron Racers has been rescheduled for August 7 at 6:05 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Park prior to the regularly scheduled contest for the evening. The game in Akron on June 14 was postponed due to inclement weather.
WASHINGTON, PA—The Pennsylvania Rebellion began to muster up some runs in the sixth inning against Akron on Wednesday, July 29, but the deficit proved to be too much as the Racers were able to hold on for the 4-2 early morning victory. Starting pitcher Sarah Pauly took the pitching win while Rebellion hurler Emily Weiman suffered the loss.
